Appreciated Determination of Former Pertamina Senior Officer Became Suspect

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named former state-owned PT Pertamina (Persero) as a suspect in the case of oil and gas block graft received appreciation.

"The performance of the AGO needs to get a thumbs up. Pertamina must be cleared of irresponsible people," said 98 Institute Executive Director Sayed Junaidi Rizaldi in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/4).

He added that in addition to oil and gas block investment cases in Australia, there are still many cases of foreign investment that must also be disclosed.

"The AGO must have the data. Pertamina must be a clean and healthy SOE. Therefore, Pertamina is one of the SOEs pride of the people of Indonesia," he explained to Ekpolorasi.id

Previously, former Pertamina president director Karen Galaila Agustiawan, former Finance Director of Pertamina Ferederick Siahaan, and Chief Legal Councel and Compliance Pertamina Genades Panjaitan have been named as suspects by the Attorney General.

All three were designated as new suspects in a corruption case related to the company's investment in the Australian Basker Manta Gummy Block (BMG) in 2009 that cost the state finances up to Rp 568 billion.

The prosecution entrapped them using Article 2 paragraph (1), Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 Year 2001 regarding Amendment to Law Number 31 Year 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) to the 1st Book of the Criminal Law.
