Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Inaugurated Centralized PLTS Capacity 50 kWp in Riau

INDUSTRY.co.id - Siak - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) inaugurated the Solar Power Plant (PLTS) Centralized off grid at Bencah Umbai Village, Sungai Mandau Subdistrict, Siak Regency, Riau Province.
The development of this PLTS, according to Director of Planning and Development of New and Renewable Energy Infrastructure Noor Arifin Muhammad is done to make energy affordable and accessible.
 "On the direction by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources that the real work of this kind is emphasized by him, how to build from the periphery, how energy can be affordable, and easily accessible," said Arifin in Kampung Bencah Umbai, Thursday (5/4/2018).
Arifin also said that this PLTS has a capacity of 50 kilowatt peak (kWp) and capable of powering 157 houses and 11 public facilities.
"The centered PLTS with 50 kilowatt peak (kWp) capacity has been operational since February 2018 and has upgraded 157 houses and 11 public facilities," said Arifin, a resident of Bencah Umbai village.
Currently, the management of Integrated PLTS Umbai Bencah done by the Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) by collecting dues of Rp 40,000 / KK. The cost is used for the cost of managing the PLTS, including paying two PLTS operators. The two operators are appointed directly by the Head of Bencah Umbai Village and have been trained.
Member of Commission VII of the House of Representatives, Sayed Abubakar Assegaf, also gave his appreciation for the construction of Umbai Centralized BTS PLTS which is one of the regions in the Electoral District.
"I used to be present here (Bencah Umbai Village) to pick up aspirations, and it happens that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has a program to build electricity by building PLTS in Indonesia, and the program in Commission VII is an extraordinary program and a new breakthrough which needs to be supported by Commission VII, so we strongly support this program and one of its form we appear now stands PLTS in Bencah Umbai, "he said.
On this occasion also carried out the signing of the Minutes of Hand Over (BAST) of Integrated PLTS Bencah Umbai from the original State Property into Regional Property.
