PT PLN is Ready to Acquire Coal Mine

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PLN's Procurement Director, Supangkat Iwan Santoso, said State Electricity Company (Perusahaan Listrik Negara / PLN) is ready to acquire a coal mining company.

"PLN seeks to secure long-term securitization of coal, which is important," Iwan said when met with media crews at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Jakarta, Friday (04/08/2017).

But Iwan has not been able to explain the detailed plans related to the acquisition efforts either related to the location, target acquisition and nominal investment required.

Iwan explains another thing that is so that the price does not go up and down it takes a long-term contract with the coal mine.

PLN claimed to have been given "green light" or permission from the government to start the acquisition process.

"Actually the fastest step is 'joint cooperation', some things are being considered, hopefully this year can be realized," said Iwan.

In addition, Iwan also explained that the actual investment in gas is cheaper, but coal operations are more targeted for this year first.

"We clearly want to continue to partner with mining entrepreneurs, so that business relations continue to run well," he said.
