Minister Basuki Wins Award for Republika 2017 Reform

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono received the award as one of the five figures of change in 2017 from Republika Daily, at Djakarta Theater Ballroom, Tuesday night (10/4/2018).

The award was given to the work of Minister Basuki in supporting the unity of the nation through infrastructure development.

"For me the change is towards improvement. There's no point in changing if it gets worse. Any change must lead to better conditions, "said Minister Basuki.

In his speech, Minister Basuki said that the award received is not for himself, but for all personnel of the Ministry of PUPR. Therefore, when delivering the speech, Minister Basuki invites all High Officials present to rise to the stage because the achievement of the Ministry of PUPR is the result of joint work.

"Our work with friends is done as much as possible. But regarding the results, we leave it to Allah SWT. Our principle is to work hard, work thoroughly and work sincerely, "said Minister Basuki.

Under the leadership of Minister Basuki with the "rock n roll" style in the period 2015-2017, the Public works and People’s House  Ministry has built 36 dams in which 8 dams have been completed.

The completed dam has increased the reservoir irrigation service from 761,542 hectares (11 percent) to 859,626 hectares (12.9 percent). The capacity of water containers increased to 1,031 million cubic meters, raw water capacity of 5 cubic meters per second, and the potential energy of 112 megawatts.

In support of the one million housing program, the PUPR Ministry has managed to build 2,490,378 low-income housing units with details of 699,570 units by 2015, 881,102 units by 2015 and 904,758 units by 2017.

As for the toll road until March 2018, has been completed 398 kilometers. Minister Basuki targets until the end of 2019, the length of the toll road will reach 1,851 kilometers.

In expediting connectivity, within the period 2015-2017, 2,557 kilometers of new roads have been completed from the new 2,650 km road development target in 2019. For the bridge has been built a total of 24.4 km from the target of 29.8 km of bridges in 2019.

The Award of the Republika Figures is an annual event for Republika's Birthday, which in 2018 is the theme of 'Strengthening the Nation Unifying Node'.

Besides Minister Basuki, another 2017 Republika figure is the President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Suprajarto, Ustadz Abdul Somad, Deputy Commander of Police Commissioner Syafruddin who is also Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council and owner of Batik Trusmi Cirebon Sally Giovanny.
