INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) president Mohamad Sohibul Iman said the policy of importing salt is a very dilemma because it is needed by various industries but also hitting people's salt production in various regions.

"We ask the government of President Jokowi to pay attention to his policy. The policy of importing salt is very dilemmatic," said Mohamad Sohibul Iman in a release received in Jakarta on Saturday (13/4/2018)

The PKS President expressed this when meeting with the salt farmers in Pecangaan Village, Batangan, Pati, Central Java, complaining about the salt import policy that had been decided.

For that, he said, the current government should be considered more serious in paying attention to the fate of farmers and salt farmers.

Moreover, he heard from salt farmers complaints that there is imported salt for industrial use but can also circulate in the market as salt consumption.

Sohibul Faith therefore wants industrial salt imports to be closely guarded by the government so that nothing is smuggled for consumption salt in the markets.

He argues that the current problem is the issue of productivity and the lack of land that can be empowered to meet the needs of salt each year.

Previously, as many as 10 salt processing industries committed to absorb salt production of 105 farmers in the country through the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the Absorption of People's Salt.
