Telkom Submits Tools for Difable

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta -PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) handed over aids to 5,200 persons with disabilities in Telkom Disability Care - Charity Golf Tournament.
On that occasion, Telkom signed a partnership with Kick Andy Foundation with the scope of cooperation to hold Gantari Award appreciation to the disabled, achievement of entrepreneurship development and distribution of tools for 5,200 disables consisting of 720 artificial limbs, 52 low vision tools, 52 audio books, 52 digital Al-Quran, 52 hearing aids, and 4,272 braille books.
Minister of SOE Rini M. Soemarno appreciated this aid as a form of presence of BUMN in the middle of society. It is proper that the existence of SOEs is felt across all levels of society, including by persons with disabilities in Indonesia as a form of BUMNs Present for the State. Programs such as Telkom Disability Care should be appreciated and supported to create equality for persons with disabilities. Such a program is expected to continue, so that it can provide the greatest benefit for the nation," said Rini M. Soemarno in Jakarta, Saturday (5/8/2017).
Meanwhile, Telkom President Director Alex J. Sinaga, explained that Telkom Disability Care is a corporate social responsibility program to people with special needs initiated by Telkom since 2016.
Telkom Disability Care is Telkom's effort to improve the competitiveness of people with disabilities through programs such as funding for entrepreneurship development, provision of difable tools, in addition to hiring difables and making special applications for exceptional schools (SLB). This is to encourage economic independence and improve the welfare of persons with disabilities in Indonesia, explained Alex.
According to him, through Telkom Disability Care program, Telkom also targets to employ as many as 152 disabled labors in various TelkomGroup operational lines in accordance with their respective competencies. "With the implementation of Telkom Disability Care program which is encouraged by the spirit of SOEs Present for the State, Telkom hopes to improve the life equality of people with disability in Indonesia and it is expected to inspire other people to always increase awareness to others so that the increase of prosperity and power Competitiveness of the nation in this digital era can be accelerated through the synergy of all parties," he said.
