Facing Industry 4.0 , Minister of Industry Continues to Improve Innovation and Competitiveness of Food and Drink Industry

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, the Ministry of Industry continues to increase the innovation and competitiveness of the food and beverage industry (mamin) in line with the establishment of this sector as one of five pilot sectors in the implementation of Industry 4.0 in Indonesia.
"The mamin industry plays an important role in the distribution of business in the country, where the perpetrators are mostly small and medium scale industries," said Minister of Industry of Airlangga Hartarto at the opening of Food and Beverage Industry Products Exhibition 2018 at the Plasa Exhibition Industry, Ministry of Industry, Jakarta, Monday (4/23/2018).
Minister of Industry explained that his side has launched Roadmap of Making Indonesia 4.0 which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo. The strategic move into this national movement aims to transform and integrate the digital or online world with production lines in the industrial sector.
"With all production processes running through the internet as the main support, it is expected to increase productivity and innovation and production cost efficiency for our manufacturing, including in the mamin industry so that national industrial products can be globally competitive," he said.
To encourage the acceleration of the implementation of Industry 4.0, Kemenperin participates in printing competent industrial human resources through vocational education programs.
"In addition, the Ministry of Industry together with the Indonesian Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs Association (GAPMMI) encourages building innovation center," said Minister of Industry.
With the center of innovation, it is expected that SME sector actors can also take advantage of technology development so that the resulting product can be competitive in the domestic market and to meet export needs.
"The government is preparing a super deductible tax incentive for companies that want to develop innovation center," Airlannga said.
In an effort to facilitate the expansion of the national industrial products market, Kemenprin actively conducts promotional activities both through exhibitions at home and abroad.
"The exhibition agenda for the promotion of mamin industry products that we routinely carry out every year is the Food and Beverage Industry Exhibition and Bazaar Lebaran," he added.
This year's mamin industry exhibition will last for five days, starting on 23-27 April 2018 which is open to the public at 09.00-16.00 WIB.
"The exhibition is expected to be a driving force for entrepreneurs in the field of mamin industry to introduce products, quality and brand image and obtain various inputs and desires from customers," concluded Airlangga.
