Monitoring the Availability of Red Rawit Chili Before Ramadan in Blitar

INDUSTRY.co.id - Blitar - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) is currently focusing on monitoring the availability of red pepper to meet the needs during the month of Ramadhan 2018. Monitoring one of them is done in Blitar Regency which is one of red chili red pepper centers in East Java.
Based on the monitoring result, Director of Horticultural Protection Sri Wijayanti Yusuf said that the area of red chili ready for harvest at Blitar Regency reaches 6,950 ha or 43% of the national harvest per month target of 16,000 ha per month. Productivity of local cayenne blond varieties reaches 8 tons per ha.
April is the peak of red cayenne pepper in Blitar regency. The location is located in 3 districts of Panggungrejo District of 3,000 ha, Binangun 2,500 ha and Wates 1,450 ha.
"This proves that the stock availability of red pepper nationally before ramadhan 2018 is enough available," said Sri Wijayanti during melalukan monitoring as well as red pepper harvest with Blitar Regent, Wednesday (25/4/2018).
He emphasized the availability of red pepper nationally this is in addition to being supplied from production in Blitar, also supplied from other red chili centers. Namely Kediri, Malang, Banyuwangi, Magelang, Temanggung, Garut, Cianjur, Sukabumi, and East Lombok.
"The center of red chili production center, is currently harvesting highway. Harvest continues until June due to chili pepper up to 16 times in a season. That is, the need for Ramadan until Lebaran will be safe, " he explained.
"Production from Blitar itself is very high reaching 80 tons per day so as to supply Surabaya to Jakarta," he continued.
In addition Sri Wijayanti continued; with harvest conditions are almost evenly distributed in every district in Blitar regency, then the price at the level of farmers today tend to go down for various chilis. For example, red curly peppers today Rp 35.000 per kg and red chili itself decreased to Rp 17.000 per kg.
"With this condition, we are sure the availability and price of various chilies during Ramadan until Idul Fitri feast will be safely under control," he said.
Present at this harvest is Blitar Head of Agriculture Office, Eko Priyo Utomo, Head of Blitar Public Prosecutor Office, Amrullah, Head of Public Works and Blitar Housing, Haprianto, Blitar Wakapolres, Kompol Andy Yudha along with his staff and red chili champion Sarwiyanto. The chili harvest is carried out on land owned by Gapoktan Manunggal Karso Panggungrejo Village, Kec. Panggungrejo.
