President Jokowi Confirms Religion of Islam Not Teach Violence

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- President Joko Widodo stressed that Islam never teaches violence, let alone terror between people.
"That our religion is Islam, does not teach like that, does not teach something with violence, nothing," said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the National Halaqah Hubbul Wathon and Declaration of the National Movement of Muballigh Bela Negara at Haji Pondok Gede Djakarta Timur on Monday (5/14/2018)
According to him, Islam actually teaches its people to be gentle, polite, respect others and respect others.
Islam at the same time, he said, also taught his people to always be tawadhu and humble.
"I think that's what our great Prophet taught us," he said.
Therefore, he asserted that it has become a common obligation, especially the mubalig to remind the students, congregation and his followers not to deviate from the true teachings of Islam.
"This is what I think is our common obligation, the preachers to remind their students to remind their congregations, to remind the people," he said.
Moreover, he said, Indonesia is a large and diverse nation that is vulnerable to issues of disunity if differences are not well managed.
"And on this occasion I also want to remind about our country, our country is a big country," said the President in front of hundreds of preachers who attended.
The President attended the National Halaqah Hubbul Wathon and the Declaration of the National Movement of Belawan State Muballigh after being delayed because the President immediately flew to Surabaya after the bombing tragedy in three churches in the city on Sunday (13/05/2018).
