SKK Migas Delivers Sukowati Block Management to New Operator

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bojonegoro - Special Unit for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) has determined the new operator of Sukowati Block field management.

The handover was done on Sunday (20/5/2018) from Joint Operating Body of Pertamina PetroChina East Java (JOB PPEJ) to PT Pertamina EP Asset 4.

Instead of managing the Field Sukowati refers to the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Number 2800/12 / MEM.M / 2018.

Head of SKK Migas representative of Jabanusa, Ali Masyhar said the handover was done because the management contract was exhausted in February 2018 ago. Then get a maximum extension of six months to find a replacement operator.

"The official handover has not been done yet," he said, Tuesday (05/22/2010).

It is expected that with this new operator change, SKK Migas hopes that in this block management could be better and increase the amount of national oil and gas production. The new operator continued Ali should immediately perform activities after the transition period.

SKK Migas implements an expired block system that is automatically managed by a state-owned operator.

Just to note, the highest production JOB PPEJ occurred in 2012 and reached 48 thousand barrels of oil per day (BOPD). The total production is from the total of 35 active wells, namely 26 wells in Sukowati field and Mudi 9 well field. But now the production can only reach about 8,900 BOPD. (bj)
