INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Chairman and CEO of Piaggio & CSpA (PIA.MI), Roberto Colaninno along with Vice President Foton Motor Group and President Foton International, Chang Rui on May 17, 2018 in Pontedera, Italy, have signed a final contract for the development and production of a new line lightweight commercial vehicles, following the preliminary agreement in Beijing in September 2017.

According to information received INDUSTRY.co.id, Tuesday (29/05/2018) mentions, technical details of this agreement will be completed over the next two months.

Various types of commercial vehicles will be realized in the form of mini pick-ups and vans to meet the needs of growing commercial mobility, especially for inter-city travel. These vehicles will be equipped with the latest generation of engines that are environmentally friendly and full of cutting edge technologies. All types of vehicles developed have a capacity of up to 1.5 tons.

The developed variants will be launched in stages starting from 2020 through a distribution network that prioritizes customer satisfaction.

As the European market leader in the two-wheel vehicle sector, in 2017 Piaggio Group recorded sales of commercial vehicles of 176,800 units worldwide. This confirmed the position of Piaggio Group as a three and four-wheeled vehicle industry for passengers and goods.

Foton Motor Group, China's largest commercial vehicle maker recorded a 57.1 billion yen transaction through 2017 with 40,000 employees worldwide.
