Baznas Pesisir Selatan Distributes Scholarships to 2,674 Students

INDUSTRY.co.id - Painan - Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) of Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatera, distributed scholarships to 2,674 local students, consisting of 1,774 elementary school students and 900 junior high school students on Thursday (7/6/2018)
Head of local Baznas Yuspardi after the scholarship submission in Painan, specially mentioned elementary school students receive Rp500 thousand each and junior high school students each receive Rp600 thousand.
"The total budget we allocate to this activity is Rp1, 42 billion, hopefully can be used by the students to alleviate their school fees," he said.
He added that to facilitate the process of channeling his side in cooperation with Bank BRI Branch Painan.
The 2,674 students who received the scholarships came from underprivileged families and have not been touched by government programs such as Poor Student Assistance (BSM) and Smart Indonesia Card (KIP).
On that occasion, Baznas Pesisir Selatan also handed over uninhabitable home surgical assistance to the elderly students living in unsuitable homes.
"The handover of aid this time we specialize in the environment of the Department of Education from students to their parents, because the funds we submit is the zakat collected from the ranks of teachers in the education office," he said.
Meanwhile, he said, assistance for students outside the education office such as those already in college or outside it will be implemented at a later time.
"Towards the end of the year we will submit more scholarships only we have not made the schedule because we are still selecting the file submitted scholarship recipients," he said.
The scholarship handover was carried out symbolically from the local district head Hendrajoni, the head of the local PKK Team and other officials.
