Merck Targets Consumer Health Divestment Completed in Q4 2018

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Merck Tbk targets the divestment of the consumer health segment to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2018. The divestment transaction value of the business segment is estimated to reach Rp 1.38 trillion.
According to the company's official publication on Friday (22/6/2018), the transaction represents the sale of CH's business segment, excluding the receivables of assets, accounts payable, and certain other assets and liabilities related to the CH business segment.
The buyers of this business segment are PT Procter & Gamble Home Product Indonesia and other entities or entities in The Procter & Gamble Company business group appointed by the final controlling shareholder of PT Procter & Gamble Home Product Indonesia.
Management stated, continue running the business segment of consumer health as usual until the transaction process is complete.
All brand names and trademarks of the consumer health business will be ditrasger to P & G, including the acquisition of all employees who are 100% dedicated to the consumer health business after the transaction is complete.
"We are confident of being able to adjust to the new focus, while keeping the business growth priority," said the management.
With Merck's production facilities still in place, the company will focus its operations on the operations and business segment development of Biopharma and other business segments. (imq)
