INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) estimates the circulation of money during the Election of Regional Head (Pilkada) 2018 at least reached Rp 25 trillion.
However, this amount could be higher if the campaign cost incurred by each candidate pair exceeds Kadin's assumption.
Sarman Simanjorang, Vice Chairman of Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), said that the amount is derived from the government's budget for electoral election worth Rp 20 trillion.
"It is for the printing of ballot papers, logistics, fees for payment of honorariums, honorarium fees for the people involved, and other technical," said Sarman in Jakarta (27/6/2018).
The remaining Rp5 trillion comes from the campaign costs of the candidate pairs. According to him, the average cost of the candidate pair campaign at the provincial level is around Rp75 billion per province.
With the implementation of Pilkada in 17 provinces, the money supply at least reached Rp 1.27 trillion.
"But this figure is moderate, which is minimal, because West Java, Central Java, and East Java has a large population and a large area, which could be between Rp100-150 billion each candidate," he said.
Then, at the city level, the average cost of a candidate pair campaign is Rp 10 billion per city. Thus, the circulation of money reached Rp 390 billion in 39 cities.
Then, the average cost of the candidate pair campaign at the district level is Rp 20 billion. That is, the circulation of money in 115 districts reached Rp 2.3 trillion.
