KPU Reminds Political Parties Immediately Register Their Legislative Candidates

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Election Commission reminded political parties to immediately register their legislative candidates to the election organizers.

"I want to remind once again to be able to apply earlier so that if there are things that are still not complete, still enough time to make improvements," said Chairman of KPU Arief Budiman in Jakarta, Tuesday (07/10/2010).

Until a week since registration opened on July 4, 2018, he said, no political party has registered yet.

According to him, usually political parties sign up at the last minute. Registration of legislative candidates will be closed on July 17, 2018.

He said that it was ready even though registration was done in the last days.

"The KPU is ready as long as it is in accordance with the schedule set in that stage," he said.

He also dismissed that political parties have not signed up due to awaiting PKPU material test No. 20/2018 in the Supreme Court.

"No, no, it's normal, on the last day, the KPU will certainly be working overtime all that day," he said in response to media crew questions.

Related to the filing of a judicial review against PKPU No.20 / 2018 to the Supreme Court, he said that his side continues to run the election stage in accordance with the decision that has been taken.

"The election stages will proceed according to the stages that have been decided, if there is a new legal decision or a new legal fact, will be seen the contents of the verdict is like," he said.
