Mid-day Break, Composite Stock Price Index Rises Thin to Position 5,936

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed up slightly by 0.08% or 4 points to 5.936 at the end of the first trading session on Wednesday (25/07/2018) compared to the position at the end of trading the day before at the level 5,931.

A slight gain in the index at mid-day breaks was buoyed by a 194-share price hike. In addition, there were 153 shares experiencing price reductions, 129 stagnant shares and 174 shares not transacted while JCI moves in a thin range, ie at 5.923-5.947.

Total trading value across all BEI market segments reached Rp3.21 trillion. It consists of trading value in the Regular Market segment of Rp2.77 trillion, in the Negotiated Market segment valued at Rp431.41 billion and in the Cash Market segment of Rp144,500.

The total volume of share transactions was 54.24 million lots of shares, the result of 229,171 transactions. Foreign investors booked net share purchases of Rp.8.33 billion. However, they still recorded a net sales volume of 164,058 lots of shares.

Five of the nine IDX sectoral indices strengthened. The index of basic industry sector experienced the highest increase, which was 1.43% or 11.15 points to 791 position. Then followed by index of mining sector and index of miscellaneous industry sector which each rose 1.24% and 0.96%.

LQ45 stocks that experienced price increases and became top gainers were MYRX whose prices jumped 10.85% or Rp14 to Rp.143 per unit, UNTR whose prices increased 4.25% or Rp1,400 to Rp34,300 per unit and BUMI whose prices up 3.28% or Rp8 to Rp252 per unit.

The LQ45 stocks that became top losers were EXCL whose prices were eroded 3.36% or Rp100 to Rp2,880 per unit, SSMS whose prices dropped 2.73% or Rp35 to Rp1,245 per unit and TLKM whose prices dropped 2, 23% or Rp90 to Rp3,940 per unit. (Abraham Sihombing)
