SOE Minister Rini Hopes Nicke to Become Pertamina's Managing Director

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jayapura - BUMN Minister Rini Soemarno stated that Nicke Widyawati would be appointed as Pertamina's Managing Director.
"Ms. Nicke is a Pertamina official who, insha Allah, will serve as the new president of Pertamina," said Rini Soemarno during a speech at the inauguration of the Holtekamp-Jayapura substation and 150 kilovolt (kV) electricity transmission on Friday (08/24/2018)
However, when asked further about the opportunity Nicke became the number one person in the national oil and Gas Company, the Minister of SOE said that Nicke was one of the names that was expected for it.
Nicke herself on this occasion accompanied Rini Soemarno during a working visit in Papua. For two days the series of activities was the opening of the High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) and Holtekamp Substation, meeting with the Bright Papua Team Volunteers, reviewing the Holtekamp bridge construction process.
Previously, on Tuesday (31/7), on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Rini had also indicated that Nicke would lead Pertamina.
"We'll see. Actually there are no specific 'deadlines', I will only emphasize that time if possible. Insha Allah we will see in the near future," said Rini
As informed by Antara, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises stated that the position of President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) would soon be announced as soon as possible waiting for a decision from President Joko Widodo.
"If the President has decided, the Minister of BUMN will immediately follow up. Not today, but it will be as soon as possible," said Deputy of Mining Business, Strategic Industry and Media of the Ministry of BUMN Fajar Harry Sampurno after attending a discussion at Wisma Antara Jakarta, Wednesday (1/8 )
Since Elia Massa Manik was removed on April 20, 2018, the position of Pertamina's Managing Director is temporarily filled by Nicke Widyawati, who at that time also served as HR Director.
