The Olympic Council of Asia Admits the Quality of the World's Largest and Best Paddle Venue

INDUSTRY.co.id - Palembang - Paddle Venue has gained the best recognition in Asia according to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and is the largest and best rowing venue in the world.

Senior Vice President of Asian Rowing E. E. Nicholas expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian government, especially the Ministry of PUPR, for building the rowing venue so well, beautifully, sophisticated, with complete facilities.

While President of the World Rowing Federation (FISA) Roland Jean Cristhope said the Indonesian Government had sought to build and provide world-class rowing facilities.

We believe this venue is built to a high standard. Other international matches can use this venue so that good care is needed because the venue is the best venue and international scale, "he said in Palembang, Friday (08/24/2018).

Minister Basuki said that with many international standard venues at the JSC, the characteristics of Palembang as a sports city will strengthen the international events that can be held.

"Organizing international events will contribute to the maintenance of venues that have been built," said Minister Basuki.

The cost of building the Jakabaring Rowing and Canoeing Regatta Course venue is Rp 136 billion and the construction of Jakabaring Embung at a cost of Rp 140 billion.

The Paddle Venue has a track with a width of 200 meters and a length of 2200 meters and a depth of 5 meters. Besides that, it was equipped with an audience stand with a capacity of 2,144 seats, a start-finish tower and an area arrangement around the venue.

The Dayung Venue (Jakabaring Rowing and Canoeing Regatta Course) itself was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo together with the shooting range, skatepark, beach volleyball, and bowling center on July 14, 2018.
