INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto said he did not agree to debate the presidential candidates for vice president using English.

"There is no need to use English," Prabowo said at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, Friday (9/14/2018)

He considered it better to use the Indonesian language which is the national language.

Previously, as reported by Antara, a coalition of political parties carrying candidates for vice presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno proposed that the presidential-vice presidential debate be interspersed with English.

"It may also be the time (debate in English). Yes, so detailed things like that need to be discussed," said PAN DPP Chair Yandri Susanto at the PAN Victory House, on Jalan Daksa, Jakarta, Thursday (09/13/2018).

According to Yandri it is not a problem if the candidate pairs (paslon) debate use English because the elected Indonesian leaders will later hang out and speak internationally using English.

He considered that there was no problem using the English discussion in the presidential-vice presidential debate even though the law on linguistics must be delivered in an official speech.
