President Jokowi Signs Presidential Decree on Job Creation Law Task Force

Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 2021 on the Task Force for the Acceleration of Dissemination of Law Number 11 of 2020 on Job Creation
INDUSTRY.co.id - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has issued Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 2021 on the Task Force for the Acceleration of Dissemination of Law Number 11 of 2020 on Job Creation.
The Presidential Decree, which was signed by the President on 4 May 2021, aims to boost dissemination on Job Creation Law massively and well-targeted to the public at home and abroad. The dissemination should be carried out by ministries / agencies / authorities / local governments.
“In order to synergize the substance, strategy, and dissemination activities of Law Number 11 of 2020 on Job Creation carried out by ministries / agencies / authorities / local governments, a Task Force for the Acceleration of Dissemination of Law Number 11 of 2020 on Job Creation is established, hereinafter referred to as the Job Creation Law Task Force,” reads Article 1 of the Decree.
Based on the provisions of this regulation, the Job Creation Law Task Force is under the authority and responsible to the President. The tasks of the Task Force are based on the provisions in Article 4, as follows:
- synergize the substance of the dissemination of the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations;
- determine the dissemination strategy of the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations in the information media owned by ministries / agencies / authorities / provincial / regency / city governments;
- discuss the dissemination activities of the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations which are implemented by ministries / agencies / authorities / provincial / district / city governments;
- appoint a person-in-charge for the implementation of the dissemination of the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations at fora related to domestic and foreign investment; and
- recommend an expert during the implementation of the dissemination carried out by ministries / agencies / authorities / provincial / district / city governments regarding the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations.
Then, as stated in Article 5, in carrying out these tasks the Task Force has the authority to:
- discuss the dissemination program plan for the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations implemented by ministries / agencies / authorities / local governments;
- provide direction to ministries / agencies / authorities / local governments in the dissemination of the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations;
- monitor the dissemination of the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations directly or through reports submitted by ministries / agencies / authorities / local governments;
- coordinate to obtain data and information related to the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations with ministries / agencies / authorities / local governments; and
- obtain a copy of the report on the results of monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the Job Creation Law and its implementing regulations carried out by the Presidential Staff Office.
“In order to synergize the dissemination of Law Number 11 of 2020 on Job Creation and its implementing regulations, the minister / head of authority / governor / regent / mayor is obliged to support the implementation of the task and authority of the Job Creation Law Task Force,” Article 6 reads.
The Job Creation Law Task Force is chaired by Mahendra Siregar. In addition, there are three deputy chairpersons, namely Suahasil Nazara, M. Chatib Basri, Raden Pardede, and a secretary, namely Arif Budimanta.
In carrying out its duties, the Task Force is assisted by the Secretariat of the Job Creation Law Task Force which is led by a Head of the Secretariat under a work unit at the Secretariat of Ministry of State Secretariat. In addition, in carrying out their duties, the Task Force can form a working group.
“All costs required for the Job Creation Law Task Force, the Job Creation Law Task Force Secretariat, and the working group are borne by the State Budget through Ministry of State Secretariat’s budget,” Article 11 reads.
