Gov’t Extends Micro-Scale Restrictions to 5 July

INDUSTRY.co.id - The Government continues to intensify efforts to control the spread of COVID-19, including through the enforcement of stricter micro-scale public activity restrictions (PPKM Mikro) to take place from 22 June to 5 July 2021.
The statement was made by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at a limited meeting through video conference on the handling of COVID-19 pandemic, Monday (21/6).
After the limited meeting, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, who helms the COVID-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee, said that the President also gave instructions regarding the implementation of PPKM Mikro and operation of various sectors during the restrictions.
1. Activities at office: Offices, both government and private offices, must comply with these following regulations:
a. Implementing work from home policy for 75 percent of workers and work form office policy for 25 percent of workers in red zones.
b. Implementing work from home policy for 50 percent of workers and work form office policy for 50 percent of workers in orange and yellow zones.
c. Implementing stricter health protocols, applying shifting, not allowing workers to travel to other regions during work from home; and
d. Further provisions will be made by ministries/institutions or regional governments.
2. Implementation of teaching and learning activities:
a. For red zones, teaching and learning activities are carried out via online learning; and
b. For other zones, teaching and learning activities are carried out in accordance with technical provisions stipulated by Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology with the implementation of stricter health protocols.
3. Essential sectors Activities at essential sector may operate 100 percent with stricter regulation of operating hours, capacity, and implementation of health protocols. The sectors cover industries, basic services, public utilities, national vital objects, and basic needs (markets, grocery stores, supermarkets, the like) including that located inside malls/shopping centers.
4. Restaurant activities Food stalls, restaurants, cafés, street vendors, hawkers, including those located inside malls/shopping centers must comply with these following provisions:
a. Open dine in at 25 percent of total business capacity;
b. Limit operating hours up to 9:00 p.m.;
c. Food delivery/take-away services are still permitted according to restaurant operating hours; and
d. Implement stricter health protocols.
5. Activities at shopping centers, malls, markets, and trade centers.
a. Limitation in operating hours at 8.00 p.m.; and b. Limitation of visitor capacity to 25 percent of the total business capacity.
6. Activities at construction sites Construction sites may be fully operated with the application of stricter health protocols.
7. Places of worship Activities at places of worship at regions in red zone are temporarily prohibited until it is safe. The regulation was based on a Circular of Minister of Religious Affairs. Meanwhile, places of worship at regions in yellow and orange zones may operate based on provisions of Ministry of Religious Affairs and with the implementation of stricter health protocols.
8. Activities at public area Activities at public area (public facilities, public parks, attraction spots, and other public areas) in red zone are temporarily prohibited until it is safe. Meanwhile, public facilities, public parks, attraction spots, and other public areas in yellow and orange zones are permitted to operate with a maximum capacity of 25 percent and with the provisions stipulated in regional regulations, and implementation of stricter health protocols.
9. Art, social and cultural activities Art, social and cultural activities which may involve many people and crowd and take place in red zone are are temporarily prohibited until it is safe. In other zones, art, social and cultural centers are permitted to operate with a maximum capacity of 25 percent and with the provisions stipulated in regional regulations, and implementation of stricter health protocols.
Meanwhile, community activities are allowed with a 25-percent capacity and do not offer food to eat at the venue.
10. Face-to-face meeting, seminars, and events in red zone are temporarily prohibited until it is safe. Meanwhile in other zones, face-to-face meeting, seminars, and events are allowed to be held with a maximum of 25 percent with the application of stricter health protocols.
11. Public transport. Regional governments will arrange the capacity and operating hours of public transportation, as well as the application of stricter health protocols.
