Sriwijaya Festival 2017 Expected To Promote Palembang Tourism

INDUSTRY.co.id - Palembang- For the 26th time, the Sriwijaya Festival is held again, and for this year, the festival that nuanced cultural customs of South Sumatra (South Sumatra) was held on 22 to 27 August 2017 which was held in the court of Benteng Kuto Besak (BKB), precisely at the edge Musi River, Palembang.

Meanwhile, according to the Deputy Tourism Development Abroad Ministry of Tourism, I Gde Pitana said, "This is the oldest festival in Indonesia since 1991 and this is the 26th festival, and I am proud this festival will promote tourism especially in Palembang," he said during the opening of the Festival Sriwijaya, in the Palace of Kuto Besak Fortress, Tuesday night (22/08/2017).
He revealed under the festival performance is one of the most effective way for an area that has a tourism destination for people in the surrounding area can have a positive impact in improving the economy of the surrounding community.
"Through this festival will have multiple impacts for the community, because the icon of the tour will be more famous, and certainly will Develop the motivation for the community to develop the creative economy," said I Gde Pitana.
Sriwijaya Festival is enlivened by a variety of activities, namely orchestra music, songs, fashion shows, dances and there is a festival Kreatifood 2017 for those who want to taste coffee and culinary typical of South Sumatra, Palembang.
