INDUSTRY.co.id - Cape Town, South Africa - The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Cape Town and members of the Consulate General held a send-off celebration for Balinese explorer, Ida Bagus (IB) Ngurah Wijaya. IB Ngurah Wijaya will start his epic journey on an Aprilia motorcycle from the southern tip of Africa, Cape Town, to the northern tip of Europe, Nordkapp (9/12).

In his remarks, the Indonesian Consul General gave prayers and support to IB Ngurah Wijaya, while reminding him to take advantage of the Safe Travel application developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This application contains important information related to the protection of Indonesian Citizens (WNI), including a hotline and panic button that can be very useful in emergencies.

The first city that IB Ngurah Wijaya will visit is Mossel Bay which has established sister city cooperation with Denpasar. During his stay in Cape Town, IB Ngurah Wijaya established communication via video call with the Indonesian Consul General and the Mayor of Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, to discuss the follow-up of sister city cooperation, including the preparation of the Indonesian Folk Market scheduled for 2024.

As part of the video call's agenda, IB Ngurah Wijaya also communicated with the Chairman of the Bali Tourism Board, Ida Bagus Agung Partha Andyana, to explore the possibility of organizing a South African Tourism Mart at the Indonesian Consulate General in Cape Town.

IB Ngurah Wijaya expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and support he received from the Indonesian Consul General and the extended family of the Indonesian Consulate General in Cape Town. He also expressed his pride in being an Indonesian citizen, especially when he felt the hospitality of the people in the places he passed upon learning of his country's origin.

After taking pictures together and saying goodbye to the Indonesian Consulate General in Cape Town, IB Ngurah Wijaya started his journey from Cape Town with the final destination of Nordkapp in Norway. All those present hoped that IB Ngurah Wijaya would arrive at his destination safely and return to Indonesia carrying the good name of the country.
