Indonesia will earn US $ 100 as host of IMF-WB meeting

Luhut, who is also the Coordinating Minister for the Ministry of Marine Affairs, explained that the $ 100 million or about Rp1,330 trillion from the big event, where 10 million US dollars was obtained from the tourism sector itself, was derived from sectors supporting activities such as hotels, Transportation, souvenirs, both during activities and after activities.
All the funds, he said, are immediately spread in the community.
Luhut added that in addition to the visible benefits, other unseen benefits that Indonesia will gain are those meetings that can drive the economy in a number of tourist destinations in Indonesia, showing Indonesia's leadership and showing Indonesia's success story in implementing development.
While Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati who is also Vice Chairman of National Committee of the activity said that other benefits that Indonesia also obtained is the image and reputation that Indonesia is able to carry out large international activities.
Indonesia, she said, could use the momentum to promote Indonesian tourism as delegates from 189 member countries will visit Indonesia.
She compared the amount of funds needed for the promotion of Indonesian tourism abroad so that the people of those countries know and visit in Indonesia.
"Through the IMF-World Bank meeting, the world came to Indonesia, let's take advantage of it," she said.
In the press conference, the Governor of Bank Indonesia was also present as Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the IMF-World Bank 2018 Annual Meeting, Minister of Communications and Informatics Rudi Antara, IMF Secretary Jianhai Lin, and World Bank Group Secretary Yvonne Tsikata.
