Banking - PT Telkom Strives to Recover ATM Network

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Payment system authority, Bank Indonesia (BI), said the current banking and PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk continues to make efforts to restore a number of ATM machine network, after an interruption or anomaly of Telkom-1 satellite on Friday (25/8).
"The recovery effort is done by switching the connection from the disturbed satellite to Telkom 3S or another satellite," said Executive Director of Communication Department of BI Agusman in Jakarta, Sunday (8/27/2017).
BI has received reports from the affected banks of the Telkom-1 Satellite anomaly and concluded that not all ATMs suffer from such disturbances.
BI pledges to continue monitoring the progress of recovery of this disturbance and continue to coordinate with banks and related institutions.
To anticipate the need for cash in the community, he added, BI continues to support the availability of cash in banks and also ensures the transfer system in the banking run normally.
"Bank Indonesia Real Time Gross Settlement (BI-RTGS), Bank Indonesia National Clearing System (SKNBI) and Bank Indonesia Scripless Securities Settlement System (BI-SSSS) are still running normally," he said.
