INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Jasa Marga Tbk (JSMR) holds the premier listing of Future Backed Securities (KIK) Asset Backed Securities (EBA) based on futures worth IDR 2 trillion in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Thursday (31/08/2017).
"The recording of PT Jasa Marga's moment-to-moment CIK EBA is a form of capital market commitment to support the financing of infrastructure development," said Wimboh Santoso, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of OJK (Financial Services Authority) in his keynote speech at KBA EBA Prime Listing Jasa Marga in front of President Joko Widodo at BEI Building, Thursday (31/08/2017).
Wimboh explained, KIK EBA Jasa Marga is a securities of Jagorawi Toll Revenue with a value of Rp2 trillion. This listing is also the first for KIK EBA instruments based on future revenue.
"Until now, our business world is still experiencing funding gap (inequality of financing-ed), so it is necessary to encourage the role of Indonesian Capital Market to anticipate it. Going forward, Indonesia Capital Market will continue to be developed into one of the significant long-term funding sources for the business world as well as the government to finance various national development programs, especially infrastructure development," said Wimboh.
Wimboh said, Indonesia's financial services sector in 2017 is expected to disburse financing to reach Rp717 trillion. Approximately 73% of the total funds are distributed by the national banking sector, amounting to 24% coming from the Indonesian Capital Market sector and the remaining 3% from other non-bank financial institutions (IKNB).
"Meanwhile, Indonesian Capital Market is estimated to raise Rp170 trillion this year," added Wimboh.
Wimboh also said that the Indonesian Capital Market will be developed on the basis of establishing credibility by encouraging the implementation of Initial Public Offering (PUPS) and increasing more domestic investors, providing more diverse capital market products, preparing a more reliable capital market infrastructure and competitive, simplify the PUPS process, strengthen the implementation of Good Corporate Governance of the issuers, and continue education for investors.
"With these various efforts, the role of capital market in development is expected to be more significant. We hope, at the end of this year will witness a new record again in our capital market," added Wimboh. (Abraham Sihombing)
