Minister of Industry, Giving Appreciation to PT Bayer for its Contribution to Indonesia

INDUSTRY.co.id - Depok- Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto gave appreciation to PT Bayer Indonesia for its contribution which has been and will be given to Indonesia especially in building national health resilience through the fulfillment of medicines and health care needs for the community.
"Hopefully PT Bayer Indonesia can develop and innovate to support the government to provide medicine for the people of Indonesia and contribute in the national economy," said Airlangga after inaugurating the health care factory PT Buyer Indonesia in Depok, West Java, Monday (4/9/2017).
He added that in conjunction with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Bayer Indonesia, the company seeks to expand its healthcare factory production facility through a Solid Expansion Project (SEP) with an investment value of Rp500 billion. The facility is targeted to operate by 2019.
"We also congratulate PT Bayer Indonesia for completing the Quality Control Laboratory (QC Laboratory) as one of a series of pharmaceutical factory expansion projects in Cimanggis," said Airlangga.
QC Lab is expected to be more supportive on improving the quality of health products for the community and produce products that can compete in the domestic and international markets.
This result is certainly the fruit of a long and continuous journey from PT Bayer Indonesia as a government partner in providing health facilities and infrastructure for the people of Indonesia, "he said.
The Minister of Airlangga stated that his party keeps encouraging the pharmaceutical industry to actively conduct continuous research and development activities for raw materials, processes and products.
"Through research and development conducted, the domestic pharmaceutical industry is expected to continue to make efforts towards the transformation of the pharmaceutical industry from the previous formulation industry into an industry that can produce raw materials and intermediate materials," he said.
At the same occasion, General Manager of PT Bayer Indonesia, Angel-Michael Evangelista conveyed, in total the company has invested as much as Rp1, 6 trillion since last year, including Rp500 billion for expansion in an effort to improve the quality and production capacity of the plant to meet global standards.
"Through this Cimanggis plant, Bayer has successfully exported 75 percent of its health products to 31 countries, some of which have the most stringent pharmaceutical regulations such as Australia, Korea and European countries," he said.
The Cimanggis healthcare plant is one of five Bayer Health Care manufacturing facilities scattered around the world. The Cimanggis plant is built on an area of 102,000 m2 and is now less than one-fifth or more than 18,000 m2, used to produce Bayer Health Care products.
"We thank the Indonesian people for their loyalty in using our products and the Indonesian government and other stakeholders for the support of Bayer's 60 years of operations in Indonesia and we will continue to support the government's efforts to realize our mission to improve quality live the community, "he concluded.
