INDUSTRY.co.id - Bojonegoro - Bojonegoro District Agriculture Office, East Java, said some cigarette manufacturers started buying virginia voor oogt (VO) and Java tobacco by opening warehouse purchases in rural areas, since two weeks ago.

"Manufacturers who have started to open purchases include PT Gudang Garam, PT Djarum Kudus, as well as tobacco-affiliated tobacco manufacturers," said Kasi Tanaman Semusim Bojonegoro Agriculture Office Imam Wahyudi, in Bojonegoro, Thursday (7/9/2017)

According to the monitoring results in the field, he said, the price of dry tobacco dried virginia VO in a number of tobacco producing centers, among others in District Sukosewu, Sugihwaras, also other sub-districts ranged Rp10.000-Rp17.000 / kilogram.

"The price of Javanese dried tobacco at the farm level is also not much different," he explained.

On the other hand, he said, PT Sadhana Arifnusa Padangan who partnered with farmers also has bought virginia RAM tobacco shells with prices ranging from Rp23.000-Rp32.000 / kilogram.

"Sales of virginia tobacco RAM from farmers directly to PT Sadhana Arifnusa in District Padangan," he asserted.

He explains the price of virginia VO tobacco tobacco and Java virginia also RAM is still likely to rise, because tobacco harvest is still on the second and third passage.

Thus the fourth and fifth harvest of tobacco which is the best quality tobacco leaf will be higher.

"Harvest of tobacco plants is now evenly distributed, but I do not know the percentage of harvest," he said.

He is optimistic the production and price of virginia tobacco VO, Java and virginia RAM will be much better than last year, let alone the climate is now very supportive.

"Unlike last year's harvest, tobacco was almost worthless because when the harvest was washed down," he said.

Moreover, he said, tobacco plants in the area with an area of about 8,900 hectares for its production are still less to meet the needs of manufacturers who make tobacco purchases this year.

The Agriculture Service said PT Central Agro Mandiri will purchase tobacco virginia VO 1,000 tons, and PT STTC 1,000 tons and PT Djarum Group 3,500 tons.

While PT Bentoel 100 tons, CV Sumber Rejeki 500 tons, PT Gudang Garam 1,000 tons, CV Sumber Mulyo 500 tons and CV Gelora Jaya 1,800 tons.
