To Keep Malioboro Clean, PKL Helps Every Tuesday Wage

INDUSTRY.co.id - Yogyakarta - In addition to a place to shop, Malioboro is currently famous for photography places for travelers. Previously, many street vendors who peddle merchandise-edge of Malioboro street. Now, the street vendors feel self-conscious, because Malioboro is one of the assets of tourist destinations in Yogyakarta.

The street vendors began to follow to maintain the cleanliness of Malioboro environment. Keeping Malioboro clean is an obligation. So the traders agreed, choose a day to clean up Malioboro.

"The initiative is very good, because hygiene and health is an important part in tourism Indonedia," said Arief Yahya, Minister of Tourism (Menpar), as quoted from faceboook Kemenpar, Tuesday (19/09/2017).

Menpar said, in TTCI, travel and tourism competitiveness index, there are 14 pillars seen in assessing the competitiveness of world tourism. One of them, healty and hygiene! So, the world standard requires that.

Therefore, it is chosen every Tuesday Wage. In this day, Malioboro Street Traders (PKL) is off 24 hours. They agreed to regularly conduct clean-up activities. Every 35 days, Reresik Malioboro will take place. During the 24 hours a street hawker will trade off to provide a cleansing opportunity.

This agreement was reached at the Reresik Coordination Meeting of Malioboro Tuesday Wage held at the Antasena Meeting Room of Yogyakarta City Hall Complex. Attending the meeting were Assistant Mayor, DLH Kota Yogya, Dishub, LLAJ, Satpol PP, Tourism Department, Malioboro UPT, Community of Merdekave Visual Rubbish, and Garbage Garbage.

Reresik Malioboro Tuesday Wage is Coordinate by UPT Malioboro and involve the economic actors around Malioboro. Also involves Malioboro Street Traders Community, Pedicab Community, Andong Community, Community Environment, DLH City, Dishubkominfo, Police, BPBD, and surrounding communities.

Bekti Maulana from Garuk Sampah Jogja claimed to be ready to support the clean-up of this Malioboro. He will mobilize 15-20 people to clean up the pedestrian. This community is known to be very concerned about Malioboro. Never, because of busy cleaning garbage in Malioboro, bike "confiscated" Satpol PP because left in one place on this street.

Rawaik Malioboro Tuesday Wage is intended to rest Malioboro for 24 hours every Tuesday Wage. Malioboro will break from all kinds of activities, except for pedestrians. Cleaning will be held regularly. But beginning the test phase on Tuesday Wage, 26 September 2017.

This technical activity will start from 00.00 AM until 09.00 am. Opened symbolically by the Mayor of Yogyakarta. With the spirit to lull or rest while Malioboro, the crowded event will be limited. And will be reconsidered in the next Tuesday Wage plan.
