Bojonegoro Tobacco Price Begins to Decrease Because The Effects of Rain

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bojonegoro - A number of farmers in Bojonegoro District, East Java, said the price of Virginia Voogst (VO) tobacco began to fall by around Rp2,000 / kilogram from the impact of rain in the last few days so that the drying process was disrupted in the area.

"Our calculation of the price of Virginia VO tobacco drops an average of about Rp2,000 per kilogram of dry tobacco, because the quality is affected by the rain," said Chairman of Sugihwaras Village Farmer Group, Sugihwaras District, Bojonegoro Lasto in Bojonegoro, Thursday (28/09/2017)

He said he currently carries Virginia VO as much as two tons of tobacco harvest after the rain, which will be deposited into the purchase warehouse owned by PT Gudang Garam in Sugihwaras.

Before this, he said the price of tobacco belongs to the highest could reach Rp22.000 / kilogram, but tobacco is now deposited the possibility of average only sells about Rp20.000 / kilogram.

However, he is optimistic not to lose money in planting Virginia VO as many as 50,000 trees that cost Rp60 million. Acquisition of tobacco selling has reached Rp30 million, not including tobacco which is now deposited into the warehouse as much as two tons.

"Now I am in the process of depositing tobacco to the warehouse owned by PT Gudang Garam," he said.
