PLN Builds Rp6 Trillion Electricity Project in NTB

INDUSTRY.co.id - Lombok - PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) conducts ground breaking five Gas Engine Power Plants (PLTMG) and one Mobil Power Plant (MPP) spread across Nusa Tenggara with a total capacity of 400 Megawatts (MW).
Groundbreaking is also the inauguration of the operation of Steam Power Plant (PLTU) East Lombok with a capacity of 2 x 25 MW.
PLN President Director Sofyan Basir said the groundbreaking and inaugurated plants could absorb enough jobs. Meanwhile, the East Lombok power plant project that has been inaugurated has absorbed 37,000 new customers, who are ready to enjoy PLN electricity. Currently, the Lombok's electricity system is 299 MW with the highest peak load of 227 MW and 72 MW reserves.
"For the total investment value of all projects that will be groundbreaking and inaugurated, it reaches Rp 6 trillion," he explained during the opening of Groundbreaking and the inauguration of the plant, in Tanjung Karang Permai Village, Sekarbela, Mataram, Lombok, Friday (20/10/2017).
With the support of electricity from PLN, it is expected that the industry will grow and bring a multiplier effect for the national economy. "We are aware that the development of Indonesia's electricity infrastructure requires the support of many stakeholders," he said.
Total electricity subscribers in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) are currently 1,158,740 customers. Meanwhile, the electrification ratio of NTB per July 2017 is 81.14% with 83.52% target at the end of 2017. Besides through rural electricity program in 2017 PLN is targeted to provide 65 remote hamlets in NTB. (tan)
