Seven PLN Electricity Projects in NTB Will Absorb Many Workers

INDUSTRY.co.id - Lombok - PLN President Director Sofyan Basir said the groundbreaking and inaugurated power plants could absorb a considerable amount of manpower. Meanwhile, the East Lombok power plant project which was inaugurated has absorbed 37,000 new customers, who are ready to enjoy electricity from PLN. Currently; the Lombok's electricity system is 299 MW with the highest peak load of 227 MW and 72 MW reserves.
For details of the seven power projects worth Rp 6 trillion, Sofyan added, first, PLTGU Lombok Peaker developed by PT PP and PT Wartsila with a capacity of 150 MW and located in the village of Tanjung Karang, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, with an investment of Rp 1.6 trillion.
"The project will absorb a total of 365 workers in the construction phase and 25 people in the operation phase, which is expected to be Commercial Operation Date (COD) in February 2019," he said at the opening of Groundbreaking and the inauguration of the plant in Tanjung Karang Permai Village, Sekarbela, Mataram, Lombok, on Friday (20/10/2017).
Secondly, PLTMG Bima, located in Bonto hamlet, Asakota subdistrict, Bima city of West Nusa Tenggara, the plant is built with a capacity of 50 MW. The developer is a consortium of PT. Wijaya Karya Tbk and Man Diesel and Turbo SE. With a total investment of Rp 637 billion, the project will absorb around 300 workers. PLTMG Bima is planned to COD in October 2018.
Third, the 50 MW Sumbawa PLTMG developed by the consortium Wika and Man Diesel and Turbo. The plant located in the Labuan Badas village of Sumbawa regency has invested more than Rp 744 billion and employed up to 285 workers. The target of PLTMG Sumbawa will be completed in October 2018.
Fourth is PLTMG Kupang Peaker capacity of 40 MW. It is developed by a consortium of PT Indofuji Energi - Jacobsen Elektro AS - PIC Group. The plant is built in Dusun Panaf, Kupang Barat District, Kupang District. It is targeted to be completed by November 2018. With a total investment of more than Rp 700 billion, the plant absorbs more than 300 workers.
Fifth, to support electricity in Flores Island, built MPP Flores with a capacity of 20 MW, in Dusun Rangko, District of Boleng, West Manggarai Regency, the plant was developed by a consortium of PT. PP (Persero), Wartsila Finland Oy and PT Wartsila Indonesia. It is Swallowing investment of more than Rp 427 billion and employing up to 210 employees during construction and 25 people during the operation phase.
Sixth, Maumere PLTMG capacity of 40 MW located in the village of Hoder, District Waigete, Sikka-Flores Regency East Nusa Tenggara. This project was undertaken by a consortium of Wika and Man Diesel Turbo. During the construction period, the project absorbed about 285 workers with investment value of more than Rp 694 billion.
Seventh, East Lombok power plant with a capacity of 2x25 MW located in Padakguar Village, East Lombok regency. Developed by PT Lombok Energy Dynamic with a total investment of Rp 1.2 trillion, it has employed 1,200 people in the construction phase and 470 workers during the operation.
Thus, Sofyan said that the condition of electricity in Indonesia is now in good condition. The reason is, there is no blackout due to power plant deficit, because all the large system of PLN electricity has surplus, and some regions have reserve margin more than 30%
So, said Sofyan, PLN is currently ready to serve the demand for electricity supply. "We hope that the availability of sufficient power can be utilized as well as possible, especially by the industry," he explained.
