Golden-Agri Resources Announces GAR 2016 Sustainability Report

INDUSTRY.co.id - Golden-Agri Resources Ltd (GAR), announces the 2016 Golden Agri-Resources Sustainability Report (GAR) that outlines the company's progress in applying innovative approaches to forest conservation.

Carrying the theme of "Realizing Sustainable Policies in Practice", GAR 2016 Sustainability Report describes the efforts of the company's consultative and inclusive approach in conservation. Including the implementation of production activities supported by community-based conservation living in the vicinity of forest areas.

According to official information received INDUSTRY.co.id, Wednesday (19/7/2017), the key to success of this conservation approach is the availability of alternative livelihoods that enable people to earn income without disturbing fire-prone ecosystems such as peatlands.

GAR is currently implementing an integrated ecological agriculture project with local communities using community land.

The project enables communities to increase their income, build food self-sufficiency, get people to learn farming methods without using chemicals and more importantly not to open the land by burning.
