Ministry of Manpower Investigates K3 Tangerang Firework Offenses

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) investigates the possibility of violation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) aspect in Fire Plant Fires case of PT Panca Buana Cahaya Sukses in Kosambi, Tangerang.

"Whether the company has implemented safety norms properly and properly, the occupational safety norms include aspects of employment, particularly safety, for workers," said the Director General for the Supervision of Employment and Occupational Safety and Health (KDP and K3) of the Ministry of Manpower Sugeng Priyanto at Kemnaker Office, Jakarta, Friday (27/10/2017)

Kemnaker has deployed the labor inspection team to the scene and coordinated with relevant authorities to explore the case.

The team will focus on the possibility of violation on the aspect of employment including corporate compliance in implementing HSE Management System (SMK3).

Sugeng explained the aspects of K3 that were investigated related to the facilities and infrastructure of K3 in the work environment such as the provision of worker protective equipment, evacuation door, and so on.

"This is a company's work obligation, to prepare a safe work infrastructure and infrastructure, which is related to the safety of workers," he explained.

In addition, Kemnaker's team will also explore matters relating to the fulfillment of workers' rights such as social security and wages.

"We will look at one of the workers who work in the company, especially those who are victims to get their rights," continued Sugeng.

On that occasion Sugeng also expressed his deep condolences for the victims and their families. This according to him should be a lesson for all parties, government, companies, workers, and society in general to improve understanding of the importance of OSH.

"We, once again want to express the expression of defensive and deep sorrow for the occurrence of this work accident that caused the victim either injured or died," he said.
