President Jokowi Scheduled to Inaugurate Palm Oil Rejuvenation of North Sumatra

INDUSTRY.co.id - Medan - President Joko Widodo will inaugurate the program of rejuvenation of oil palm plantations of farmers in North Sumatra (North Sumatra) which is centered in Dolok Masihul, Serdangbedagai District, 25 November 2017.
"North Sumatra becomes the second province of palm oil reforestation program using BPDPKS (Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Fund) in Indonesia," said Director General of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture, Bambang in Medan, Monday (6/11/2017)
The first program was conducted in Muba, South Sumatra.
He said this after holding a Coordination Meeting on Preparation of Palm Oil Rejuvenation of North Sumatra Province with stakeholders including district / municipality government heads of district officials.
Bambang explained that the newly prepared land area of 1.214 hectares is located in three districts namely Serdang Bedagai with 54 hectares with 38 planters in Kutapinang Village.
In Serdang Bedagai rejuvenation program partnered with PT Paya Pinang and BNI.
As for Langkat with an area of 256.92 hectares with 114 planters in partnership with PT Perkebunan Nusantara Company or PTPN 2 and BRI.
While in South Labuhanbatu Regency covering 558.76 hectares with 278 planters in partnership with PT Nubika Jaya, Asian Agri and BRI.
According to Bambang, in 2017, the total proposed rejuvenation in North Sumatra reached 8,083 hectares of 11 districts of Serdang bedagai covering 1,100 hectares, Langkat 508 hectares, Labuhanbatu Selatan 556 hectares, Asahan 955 hectares, Labuhanbatu 343.98 hectares.
Then Coal area of 270.61 hectares, Simalungun 973 hectares, and Labuhanbatu Utara 979.5 hectares, North Padanglawas 210.8 hectares, Padanglawas 1,190 hectares and Deliserdang 996 hectares.
But not all proposals are ready or approved to be replanted because there are requirements that have not been met.
"So for the year 2017, only from three districts covering an area of 1,214 hectares that have been approved replanted," Bambang said as quoted by Antara.
As for the national, he said, in 2017, replanting is targeted to cover 20,780 hectares in eight palm oil producing provinces.
"Because every province of preparation is not the same, so who is ready that is inaugurated," he said.
Therefore, Bambang said the liveliness and support from the district / city government plays a huge role in the success of farmers in the replanting program.
"The presence of President Joko Widodo in the palm oil replanting program is expected to be utilized by the local government to solve various problems of oil palm in North Sumatra," he said.
Start a case of land issues that are located or intersect with the area to be released.
Also the case of land that does not have the Certificate of Farm Cultivation (STDB) of other oil palm plantation problem has not been resolved yet.
"For farmers who have not succeeded in participating in the program is expected to be completed as soon as in 2018 there is still a similar program," he said.
The local government can propose farmland land for entry into the replanting program because in 2018 there is a national replanting program covering 165,000 hectares.
Head of Plantation Office of North Sumatra Herawati said, the completeness of the document is very important in oil palm renewal program funded by BPDPKS.
The Plantation Office hopes the district / city government is ready to help farmers complete all the requirements set out in the replanting program.
Vice Regent Serdang Bedagai Darma Wijaya said the regency is happy and ready to be the site of the inauguration of the palm oil replanting program centered in Kecamatan Dolok Masihul.
