BPS Notes Increased Level of Business Optimism

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Central Bureau of Statistics recorded the Business Tendency Index (ITB) in quarter III-2017 of 112.39 or higher compared to the II-2017 quarter of 111.63.

"ITB captures the perception of businessmen ITB quarter III-2017 which is higher than the second quarter-2017 shows an increase in business optimism," said Head of BPS, Suhariyanto, in a press conference in Jakarta, Monday (6/11/2017).

BPS noted that all categories of business field experienced an increase in business conditions in quarter III-2017, except in the category of declining real estate.

The business condition in quarter III-2017 increased due to the increase of three components of index forming, namely business income (115.62), use of production capacity (114.25) and average number of working hours (107.29).

The highest increase in business conditions occurred in the category of field of financial services and insurance business with the value of ITB 134.25.

"From the perspective of businesspeople, what happened in the third quarter of 2017 is encouraging," said Suhariyanto.

BPS estimates that the value of ITB in the fourth quarter of 2017 is 109.70 or the business condition is projected to increase compared to the third quarter of 2017.

The highest increase in business conditions is expected to occur in the category of government administration, defense, and compulsory social security with an ITB score of 129.59.
