Taiwan's investment to Indonesia is profitable

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Standard Chartered Bank Indonesia expects Taiwan to diversify the 80% investment destination country to China, to shifting to Indonesia.

Aldian Taloputra, Chief Economist of Standard Chartered Bank Indonesia, said shifting allocation of investment destination countries could reduce risk.

"The impact is relatively small, but the new southbond, Taiwan needs new investment because 80% to China is risk," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/11/2017).

He said the data of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Taiwan's investment to Indonesia US $ 0.34 billion rose above 2x, compared to US $ 0.15 billion in 2016. Taiwan is not the largest, he was at level 13, but growth rapidly, "he said.

From the data, he added, investment of 58% in Java, 40% of Sumatra and the rest outside the island.

He further detailed the sector, as much as 35% to industrial pipers, 23% non metal minerals, 22% rubber sector.
 

"This investment should help, especially Indonesia climb value change to manufacturing," he said.
