INDUSTRY.co.id - Banten - Minister of Public Works & People's Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono called on the stakeholders to develop Kota Baru Maja independently and no longer dependent on Jakarta. New Town Maja is projected to be inhabited to 1.2 million people in which half of the number is among low-income people.
The development of Kota Baru Maja according to Basuki is the government's effort to curb the urbanization rate to big cities, especially Jakarta. Basuki said that Maja, located 90 km in West Jakarta, should be built with the vision of an independent city with many activities, not limited to settlements.
"Maja must support herself, not to Maja depend on Jakarta," he said after the inauguration of Citra Maja Raya project in Maja, Lebak regency, Banten, on Saturday (18/11/2017).
Basuki said, the government will support the development of Kota Baru Maja through various infrastructure projects, especially access roads. In the master plan, the Ministry of PUPR will build a 51 km long road. This road extends from Pamulang - Setu - Parung Pajang - Maja. Currently, the Serpong - Balaraja toll road is being built by Bumi Serpong Damai consortium.
The need for clean water in Kota Baru Maja will also be supported by the Karian Dam which is currently the progress of its physical work to reach 40%. The dam is capable of supplying water with a capacity of 200 liters per second.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Ciputra Residence, Budiarsa Sastrawinata, said Citra Maja Raya was built on an area of 2,000 hectares to build housing for low income people. This is an effort to realize the government program in a million home program.
Until now Citra Maja Raya is building 10,000 units of houses including about 8,000 units of homes that are devoted to MBR. In addition, Citra Maja Raya will soon build 1,000 units of subsidized MBR housing with a housing financing liquidity facility (FLPP).
"With the support of good infrastructure, Maja will be a new economic growth destination in Lebak - Banten," he said
He added that in the planning of this city will be equipped with commercial facilities Eco Plaza, Education, Health, Sport Club, Water Park, Modern Market, Shuttle Bus, Sub terminal, Eco park in the form of green open space, Theme park and other facilities.
