Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport Back to Operate

INDUSTRY.co.id -Denpasar - I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, operates again starting at 15.00 WITA after being closed since Monday (27/11/2017), as Mount Agung ash in Karangasem regency away from airport airspace.
"Mountain ash leads to Lombok following the wind direction," said Head of Airport Authority Region IV Herson in Denpasar, Wednesday (29/11/2017.
According to him, the data obtained from the report of the Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and other relevant institutions such as Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) in Darwin, Australia.
Also reinforced by the decrease of flight level from "red" to "orange" indicator on Volcano Observatory Notice for Aviation (VONA) from Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG).
Herson told media crews that the decision to reopen the operations was decided in an evaluation meeting attended by PT Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Airport Ngurah Rai, BMKG, Airport Police, Airnav and Basarnas.
Related parties, he said, will continue to monitor the latest developments related to airport operations including information eruption of Mount Agung.
Previously, Ngurah Rai Airport closed since 07.00 WITA on Monday (27/11) and extended to the plan on Thursday (30/11) at 07.00 Wita.
A number of flight schedules that previously canceled flight, will now be rescheduled again to fly domestic and international routes.
