Airlangga Hartarto's Leadership Period Determined Munaslub

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Senior Golkar Party politician Fahmi Idris said that Airlangga Hartarto's leadership as General Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP will be determined in Munaslub.

"The term of office that will be decided on Sunday (19/12/2017) whether two years or five years," said Fahmi Idris after the opening of Golkar National Park in JCC on Monday night (18/12/2017)

Under the provisions, because Airlangga replace Setya Novanto through Munaslub then his term as general chairman is only two years or fill the rest of the tenure Setya Novanto.

But the term of office can be up to five years if the owner of the Golkar vote wants it.

According to Fahmi, the two options for tenure are equally strong and will be decided in the Munaslub.

Airlangga Hartarto was elected chairman of the Golkar Party DPP in the Plenary Party's Plenary Meeting, to replace Setya Novanto who was ensnared in the case of alleged corruption law of an electronic ID card project.

Fahmi acknowledged there were some people who said they wanted to advance as candidates for the chairmanship of the Munaslub, but he stressed that so far the majority of voters' aspirations wanted Airlangga to lead Golkar.

"The requirement to advance as a candidate has to pocket support, so it seems difficult for anyone to match Airlangga's pack," he explained.
