Baznas Padang Targets to Collect Zakat Rp 26 Billion

INDUSTRY.co.id - Padang - Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) Padang, West Sumatra targets to collect zakat amounting to Rp26 billion in 2018 or an increase from this year amounting to Rp24 billion.
"We are optimistic to be realized given the current zakat participation continues to increase," said Chairman Baznas Padang, Epi Santoso in Padang, Sunday (24/12/2017
He pointed out that until December 2017 has managed funds amounting to Rp19, 6 billion with existing 39 thousand mustahik or recipient of zakat.
This means that still less Rp 4 billion more to meet the target of Rp24 billion, usually on the eve of the closure of many years of zakat.
"Currently zakat participation is still strong sourced from the State Civil Apparatus (ASN), in the future will be driven non-ASN community," he said.
As an illustration of this year zakat collected from non-ASN has reached Rp 5, 6 billion or an increase from the previous year which ranges from Rp2-Rp3 billion.
He added according to the direction of the center of zakat channeled through programs such as Padang Sehat, Padang Cerdas, and Padang Religius.
Finally it through the program Padang Sehat carries out mass circumcision as many as 427 children.
Previously there has been a scholarship grant to elementary and junior high school students and business assistance for mustahik owners of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises.
Then also provide assistance to tahfiz house to organize the program of Memorizing Al Quran.
While the mayor of Padang, Mahyeldi Ansharullah as reported by Antara, encouraging citizens to compete in zakat.
According to him zakat is very beneficial for the people of both the world and the hereafter.
