INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), started in 2018 by drilling the MJ-AA5 well in Mangunjaya Village, Babat Toman Sub-District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera, Monday (1/1/201).

Pertamina EP President Director Nanang Abdul Manaf in his press statement said MJ-AA5 is an exploitation drilling well managed by PT Pertamina EP Asset 1 Ramba Field, with a depth of 500 meters.

Drilling activities are projected to take approximately 16 days and drilling targets this time in the form of oil. The well is the first well drilled on the Mangunjaya structure post-closure of wells illegally snatched in the area.

"This confirms that Pertamina EP is determined to produce oil and gas legally and to comply with applicable government regulations and best practice rules of oil and gas," Nanang said.

The MJ-AA5 well drilling was conducted by PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (PDSI), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), using PDSI N55 rig. The location of the MJ-AA5 well is adjacent to the MJ 67 well that was previously groped by illegal miners and is now closed.

Nanang also explained that the achievement of oil and gas production targets directly affects state revenues. Therefore, Pertamina EP is optimistic to face 2018 with the spirit of honest, sincere, and trust.

"We continue to work on improving production by taking into account environmental and social aspects and every worker always develops an honest, sincere, honest attitude in doing the job," he said.

He said the last few years have been a challenge for the oil and gas industry because of the unstable oil price. Nevertheless, Pertamina EP continues to struggle to survive in difficult times and work against limitations.

"We ask for the prayers and support of the entire community so that our operational activities run smoothly, operational excellence and zero accident," he said.

In addition to well drilling activities, the board of directors and commissioners of Pertamina EP participated in witnessing the launch of Mini Collector Station (SP) in RB-05 to optimize the classical Ramba formation. This mini SP is an innovation of Pertamina EP Asset 1 Ramba Field workers to break backpressure of Ramba structure.

"Appropriate active and reactivation plan can provide additional production up to 200 barrels per day to support the achievement of production target in 2018," said General Manager Asset 1 Rizal Risnul Wathan. (Ant)
