INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Chairman of Indonesian Textile Association (API), Ade Sudrajat is optimistic to enter the political year, textile and textile product sales (TPT) will increase compared to last year.
"Entering the political year the demand for goods will increase, the article of demand for campaign t-shirts will increase," said Ade in Jakarta (4/1/2018).
He estimates this year's unilateral election activity will boost sales by 10 percent.
"The reason, all candidates who will advance in election this year will definitely need a shirt for the campaign," he explained.
Furthermore, Ade hopes the high demand TPT can provide fresh breath for entrepreneurs. Therefore, domestic sales last year felt less profitable.
Based on the record of domestic textile sales API only reached Rp90 trillion. This figure is lower than the previous year's sales of Rp 105 trillion.
"The decline was caused by the weak purchasing power of the people," Ade said.

"This is because the results of plant relocation to Central Java so that our competitiveness strengthens," he concluded.
