President Jokowi Suggests Farmers Selling Harvest in Rice

INDUSTRY.co.id - Palembang - President Joko Widodo suggests rice farmers sell crops in the form of rice because the benefits of planting rice occur after harvest.

"The big profit is when I become rice, so I say to sell it in the form of rice," said President when speaking on Integrated Product Development of Integrated Rural Area (Prukades) in Transmigration Area, KTM Mesuji District, Lampung, Sunday (21/1/2018).

During this time, the President continued, the farmers take care of the rice field by irrigating, fertilizing and harvesting, then selling it in the form of grain.

In the location there is a rice mill. The president wants to see the productivity of the rice mill.

"I want to see first what capacity here is enough or baseball, if baseball can be added, useful or unhelpful If it is not already left, if useful will be raised again so that its capacity to fulfill the existing in society," said the President as stated by Deputy of Protocol, Press and Media Secretariat of President Bey Machmudin in Palembang, Monday (22/1/2018)

The President also reminded the importance of farmers to consolidate in large groups so as to have a large production scale. "Do not move on your own will be difficult, if you can produce on a large scale farmers can compete," he said.
