INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - New Renewable Energy (EBT) power plant continues to contribute greatly to the development of power plants.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) noted that since 2011 the EBT power plant has increased an average of 10% every year.

"This record is a testament to the Government's commitment to develop EBT, and the EBT must be attractive to investors, and the selling price of electricity must still be competitive so that consumer tariffs are not expensive," said Head of Communication, Public Information and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of ESDM Agung Pribadi in Jakarta on Thursday (01/25/2010).

Positive trends contributing to the EBT generator start in 2011 with an installed capacity of around 5.16 Gigawatts (GW). This figure has increased in 2012, amounting to 5.48 GW or up 6.2%. Furthermore, in 2013, the contribution of EBT increased by 21.1% or to 6.6 GW.

In subsequent years, the trend of increasing the utilization of EBT for power plants also continues. The EBT Power Plant contributes 7.5 GW or an increase of 13.3% in 2014, 8.4 GW or 12.1% in 2015 and 8.8 GW or 4.2% in 2016.

While for 2017, total EBT generating capacity increased by 3.2% from the previous year or at least 9.1 GW. In details, the provision of geothermal power plant is 1,838.50 MW, Bioenergy PLT is 1,834 MW, Mini Hydro Power Plant is 203,02 MW, Solar Power Plant 89,48 MW, PLT Air is 5,124,60 MW and PLT Bayu is 1, 12 MW.

The government continues to maintain the contribution of EBT-based power plants such as PLT Bayu Sidrap phase 1 and phase 2 plan and Jeneponto PLTB, PLTB Tanah Laut, Larantuka Marine Flow Plant, Cirata Floating Plant, PLTM Wadubori, PLTMH Warabiai.
