Tokoh lingkungan hidup, Prof Emil Salim
INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta -The polemic of Jakarta's reclamation and threats policy is drowned due to the failure of geological management as the estuary of 13 rivers and sea level rise which is also caused by climate change and environmental erosion.
Environment leader Prof. Emil Salim in the discussion questioned 'Jakarta Drowning without Reclamation' revealed the causes of chronic flood problems and rob the northern coast of Java, among others: Upstream environmental damage, watershed damage, sedimentation, groundwater retrieval, sea level rise due to phenomenon global warming, coastal soil degradation without research and soil mechanics, garbage and other sciences.
"The solution is the offshore embankment, because offshore well should be away from the mainland instead of the beach, it is a holistic solution to the problem of flood and rob," said Batavia Tower on Thursday (1/2/2018).
He said that by constructing an offshore embankment (TLP) it can prevent sea water from shore, preventing river mud sediments from entering the sea to form new coral habitats, preventing sea water intrusion, preventing heavy metal pollution on the beach estuary, large without liberation, the creation of a reservoir lake or fresh water in a very large amount even greater than Jatiluhur, the creation of a port within 20 meters without dredging, the acquisition of new terrain in large areas without liberation.
"The new plains are state-owned to be used as much as possible for the welfare of the people," he said.
Emil also closed his presentation in the hope that the TLP solution follows the techniques built by Indonesian experts led by John Wirawan and his friends Jakarta-Bandung-Semarang.
Which could be a pattern to save the decline of soil and flood on the north coast of Java Island, save the natural path of fishermen to the island of Java. Because fishermen are the poorest people in Indonesia so it should take precedence.
Here is a Holistic Solution to Flood and Rob problems
1. The basic principle of the island's approach must be from the sea
2. Prevent the influence of sea water on land with offshore embankments
3. Prevents mud sediment as entering the sea, thus forming new habitats of coral reefs
4. Prevent sea water intrusion
5. Prevents heavy metal contamination on the beach estrary
6. A huge retention lake without liberation.
7. Disposal of excess fresh water into the sea with optimal pump use
