Unrelenting Harvest in Simalungun District of North Sumatra

INDUSTRY.co.id - Medan - Simalungun regency is one of rice production centers in North Sumatra Since December the harvest continues in Kab. Simalungun, Ujung Padang Sub-district also contributed rice supply in North Sumatra with 860 ha of rice field and surrounded by oil palm plantation.

According to KUPT (Edi Subagio), Wednesday (31/1/2018) the harvest is done in Nagori Huta Parik area of 76 ha, while the varieties used are Mekongga and Ciherang, with the provitas 5 t / ha. The average price of GKP at the beginning of the harvest reached the highest price of Rp. 4,800, - / kg but currently has decreased to Rp. 4,300, - / kg.

The Head of BPTP SUMUT said that the provitas can be at the level when using VUB Balitbangtan, rotation of varieties, following all components of PTT among others balanced fertilization, pest control and anticipation of climate change and improvement of irrigation networks.
