Parmusi Success of NTT to Maize Farmers

INDUSTRY.co.id - East Nusa Tenggara - General Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Brotherhood (Parmusi) harvesting corn in Sukapitete Sub-village, Leon Tolu Village, Rain Manuk District, Belu District, East Nusa Tenggara, Friday (2/2/2018) afternoon.
Sukapitete is a village built by Parmusi part of Madani Village program which not only concerned with spiritual aspect but also aspect of economic prosperity.
"Sukapitete is one of the villages built by Parmusi. We mention as Madani Village. Why Madani Village? Because we want this guided village not only the guidance of the rest of the creed, morals, but also economic independence," said Usama on the sidelines of harvesting corn.
In this Sukapitete hamlet, Parmusi rented 10 hectares of land for maize. The cornfield is managed by local people.
"Parmusi rented 10 hectares of land for corn planting with the rental price of Rp1 million per hectare for a year. Every harvest, people here can sell corn to the city. So they can be economically independent," said Usamah.
After successfully planting this corn, Parmusi provide chili and onion seeds to residents Sukapitete Hamlet. In the future, Parmusi also seeks cooperation with the government for the management of the sleeping land.
"Madani Village we make a pilot project in the program of coaching other villages in Indonesia. We look forward to working with the government. The government's sleeping soil is a lot, we hope to manage it to become productive land," said Usamah.
Maize harvesting and the determination of Madani Village were attended by residents, Danramil, local police chief. After the event, the guests enjoyed corn on the cob.
