May 2018, Garuda Adds Jakarta-Perth Flight

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - National Airlines, Garuda Indonesia increased its flight frequency from Jakarta to Perth from four times to five times per week starting May 4, 2018.

Director of Garuda Indonesia Cargo Sigit Muhartono in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday (2/2/2018), said the additional seat capacity is intended to accommodate the increasing market demand between the two cities.

"The increase in flight frequency is also a form of Garuda Indonesia's support for the improvement of Indonesia's tourism industry, in particular facilitating Australian tourists from Perth to fly to Jakarta and then to other domestic areas through the availability of seats," he said.

Sigit who also oversees the development of international routes Garuda Indonesia said that the addition of flight frequency Jakarta-Perth is an effort of Garuda Indonesia to contribute to the growth of Indonesian tourism in particular 10 priority destinations set by the government.

"Australia is one of the growing and potential markets for Garuda Indonesia, and the proximity of Indonesia and Australia, especially Perth, makes the number of service users between the two countries to visit Indonesia for business, tourism, education and health," he said.

The additional frequency of the Jakarta-Perth flight is operated every Friday with departure from Jakarta at 10.25 WIB and arrives in Perth at 16.00, then departs from Perth at 17:40 local time and arrives in Jakarta at 21:35 WIB.

Currently Garuda Indonesia has served as many as 35 flights from Indonesia to Australia including Jakarta-Melbourne PP (five times a week), Jakarta-Sydney pp (five times a week), Jakarta-Perth (four times a week), Denpasar-Perth (seven times a week ), Denpasar-Sydney (seven times a week) and Denpasar-Melbourne PP (eight times a week).

All flights are served by Airbus 330-200 / 300 aircraft with a capacity of 287 seats, except Jakarta-Perth PP currently using Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft with a capacity of 162 seats. (Ant)
