Oplosan Rice Circulates in a Number of Places, People Stay Vigilant

INDUSTRY.co.id - Medan- Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI), North Sumatra asks the public to keep an eye on the oplosan rice that is still widely available in the super market, traditional markets and other places.
"Because the forged rice, not only harm the community, but also the state," said Chairman of the Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI) Sumut Abubakar Siddik, in Medan, Saturday (07/29/2017)
In connection with that, according to him, the government through the Ministry of Trade immediately withdraw the rice from the circulation of oplosan, so that people are not wrong in buying food.
"The government and other relevant agencies must intervene to confiscate rice that is considered problematic and traded in the community," Abubakar said.
He mentioned the rice-rice quality is not; it is no longer traded in secret and should be stopped because it is no longer appropriate circulation with quality.
Society should not always be victimized, by selling processed and mixed rice with bad quality rice.
"This, including fraudulent practices and should be processed legally, because it has been detrimental to consumers and society," he said.
Abubakar added, police officers should investigate thoroughly; the perpetrators of oplosan rice, because they have a network and syndicate, and immediately stopped.
The perpetrators of the crime of food crime, has also damaged the state's economy and miserable people's lives.
"The perpetrators of rice fraud, to be sentenced so hard not to repeat the actions that violate the law," said Chairman YLKI Sumut.
Previously, the loss of trillions of rupiah suffered by the public for the crime of counterfeiting of rice by PT Indo Beras Unggul (PT IBU) came from various government subsidies that have been abused.
"The meaning of rice to get subsidy is in producing the rice, there is subsidy of input, that is seed subsidy Rp1, 3 trillion and fertilizer subsidy Rp31, 2 trillion, even added assistance of facility and infrastructure for farmer from government which amount of trillions of rupiah also, Said Head of Sub-Division of Socio-Economic Data at Center of Data and Information System of Ministry of Agriculture Ana Astrid in a press release on Sunday.
In addition to input subsidies, it also said that there is a prosperous rice subsidy (rastra) which amounted to Rp19, 8 trillion.
"There is also a prosperous rice subsidy (Rastra) for target households (pre-prosperous) of about Rp19.8 trillion, which is one-door distribution through Bulog and not traded on the market," he said.
Rice processed by PT IBU is a medium rice derived from new superior varieties such as IR64, Impari, Ciherang and others.
"All the medium and premium rice is derived from the grain varieties of New Superior Varieties (VUB), namely IR64, Ciherang, Mekongga, Bagendit, Cigeulis, Impari, Ciliwung, Cibogo and others produced and sold from farmers range Rp3.500- Rp4.700 per kg of grain, "he said. (Ant)
